NOTE: All rules must be followed. If you fail to do so, you face the risk of an appropriate punishment, such as the event being put on your staff notes, a strike in the warning system, all the way to a permanent IP ban.
That said, I will also inform you lovely guests who have just been scared by the above that we are very kind staff and will not punish anyone without good reason to. That's probably why you're looking at this thread anyway; to make sure you don't get punished! But we are very serious about keeping this site civil and open, so by all means, finish reading. This is not a ticket out the door.
Anyway, on with the rules!
To protect us staffies
1) Respect all staff.
∙This rule is fundamental. 9/10 sites have this rule.
2) Do not rush the staff.
∙We have lives, too. But generally about a week after we say something would happen (unless stated otherwise), we will understand if you PM us about the said event.
OOC (out of character)
1) No profanity under any circumstances.
∙Light swearing is permitted (i.e. hell, damn, etc.)
∙The (swearing) rules are flexible in the Cbox, but keep in mind that us admins control the Cbox and have the power to block this freedom. So with no reason are you allowed to drop an F-bomb.
2)Be nice to your fellow roleplayers as well!
∙You guys, the members, are what our roleplay is made for! This forum is made for your entertainment!
3) Please, act mature. We are not babies.
∙Staff should not have to settle petty arguments amongst members.
4) Do not mention anything that would fall under the category of 18+. Proboards is 13+, meaning we can get a bit gory, but please, please do not mention anything inappropriate!
∙This includes things such as sexual topics, suicide, etc.
5) Don't talk about politics! This could cause unneeded drama amongst us.
6) Similar to the previous rule, do not talk about religion.
∙Someone may be offended or try to convert you if you said that you were one religion, yet another person was of an opposing religion.
7) Treat others the way you want to be treated! There's a reason it's dubbed 'The Golden Rule'.
IC (in character)
1) We are a semi-literate roleplay! 50+ words in all IC posts is a requirement.
∙It isn't that hard to turn 'Molly and Jake walked down the hall, going to the library to study together.' into 'Molly and Jake scrambled out of the classroom as soon as the bell rang. The two had made plans to study in the library during lunch together. Now, their backpacks weighing heavily on their shoulders, they forced their way through the crowd of chattering kids. Finally, the two students found the double doors that led into the library. Jack shoved them open and entered. Mary followed close behind, the door closing with a quiet thump. They walked a few meters in a four foot wide hallway, shoulders brushing as they walked silently. The room soon opened up into a vast expanse. Projects, plaques, and the sort were visible, lined up atop the endless shelves of books. The thud of Molly and Jake's footsteps against the carpeted floor was the only sound in the silent library. The librarian didn't pay the two any attention, as she was typing furiously on the computer. The two, boy and girl, walked over to the tables, flinging their backpacks on the matching chairs.' Maybe this is a bit extensive, but you get the point. It isn't too hard to put detail into your posts.
∙No grammar like the following: 'Amy Looked Over at The Red Flag, a Frown on her face She Walked over and Took it And guiltily Walked away' That is just repulsive.
2) No swearing in character either!
∙As we are humans in this roleplay, light swearing is permitted.
3) We staff are grammar freaks. Please, please have good grammar.
∙We don't really care if you're typing on a mobile device. That isn't an excuse to have bad grammar; proofread!
∙No, we are not mean enough to say typos are bad. Those are mistakes. But we will not tolerate terrible grammar throughout the whole post.
∙If you constantly are showing bad grammar, we will notify you. If you continue, we will put in in your staff notes.
4) Before you start roleplaying, you must have the character application filled out and approved by staff.
5) No metagaming, or anything of the sort.
∙For those of you who don't know, metagaming is gaining an edge over another character by using information that you, the player, know through OOC threads (or just stalking other people's threads).
Well, that's it for now! Know that this thread is subject to change and you should check in on the rules often to make sure you aren't breaking any rules that were not enforced when you first read this.
